I have no idea whether cuckoos actually change their tune in June,
but there's a well-known old rhyme which claims that they do,
and it is almost certainly to this that Titty was referring:

The Cuckoo

In April, come she will;
In May, she sings all day;
In June, she changes her tune;
In July, she's ready to fly;
In August, go she must.

[Paul] Simon and [Art] Garfunkel made a song of this, changing the
words slightly, introducing some extra lines, and perhaps making it
appear that it refers to a woman rather than a cuckoo.
I have an old EP record with 4 of their songs.
The other 3 ("Scarborough Fair-Canticle", "The Sound of Silence",
and "Mrs Robinson") all occur in the soundtrack of the film
"The Graduate"; I can't remember whether this one (which they call
"April Come She Will") does too.
