I remember when we discussed this a number of years ago I cited the following quote from the OED (under john), from the rules of Harvard University in 1735:
No freshman shall mingo against the College wall or go into the fellows' cuzjohn.
The OED gives dick meaning penis from 1891.
Isn't it wonderful that simply by virtue of being a member of my local public library I have full access to the online OED, ODNB etc from home? Not just the rude words but all the others too. Thanks to everyone involved in negotiating these deals.
