In the Ranworth Broad can be found the remains of
an assortment of sunken wherries. Would it be
possible to dive to these for examination or
exploration using proper SCUBA diving gear? How
is the visibitily of these waters? Is the clarity
sufficient to allow for any visual examination of
these lost vessels? Perhaps some present day
searches can enhance the hostorical knowledge of
these freight-bearing working ships of the Broads.
It has been a hundred years since these ships were
being built, their cargo shipping abilities being
more efficiently replaced by highway and rail
carriers. Would there be any real value to try to
raise any of these for possible museum display
maybe? Could diving to these pieces of history
be considered a tourist attraction? At least,
there is not the likelyhood of any diver being
bothered by sharks - eels, more likely.
