Ed -
well, one of the sunk wherries have been raised and restored to sailing condition - Maud was sunk in Ranworth in 1961 and raised in 1981 then restored by the Pargeter family over many years. There are 8 surviving wherries, so I'm not sure how much would be gained from looking at the remains of boats under water for 50+ years.
Four of the wherries are operated by the Wherry Yacht Charter Charitable Trust - Norada, Olive, Hathor and White Moth which until last year had been for hire from the Norfolk Broads Yacht Company based in Horning in a yard that always reminded me of Jonnatt's. Albion is operated by the Norfolk Wherry Trust. Maud, Solace and Ardea are privately owned.
