A first edition of "Swallows and Amazons", 1930, unillustrated but with Spurrier jacket, has recently been sold at auction in the UK for £7,000. The auctioneer was Tennants of Leyburn, Yorks, who previously sold a similar 1st edition in 2007 for £5,000. S&A beats inflation!
