I started to write an article for MM over the weekend. I have had this on my bucket list for the last decade. Ed and I got started on Beckfoot, but that is an intractable issue.

So I am looking at the mapping in SW. The interesting issue is attempting to put the bearings into AutoCAD to determine all the co-ordinates and redraw the map.

Some interesting is observations are that on the southern dyke there is no bearing. This makes it very difficult to solve without retreating to making some educated guesses.

I only have a Godine edition. Does someone a hard copy of the edition with a better printing of the map. I would really appreciate a copy.

Horsey Island (think that is the name) does not completely look as AR drew it. Does anyone have access to a chart of the era so we can compare the outlines? Bridget's Island has either moved or disappeared.

I am a metric man, but it appears that AR drew the plan at 1.5 inches to the mile, is that on old common Imperial scale? How long was the British mile in 1939?

Thanks

JMN
