Well I count 2x the N-word in BS31 (the darkroom), and 5 in PD (the Red Fox edition from the library). They are PD13, Bill describing the crew of the Viper; PD28, John reads the labels on the bags in the treasure box before they decide to leave further investigation for Captain Flint; PD35, 3x for the bags of black and other pearls that Captain Flint opens. But in PD30 when the villians come aboard, Fighting Mogandy is referred to as “the crouching negro:” and the “big negro”. Could the N-word have been changed from the original Cape edition in this chapter (30)? Or have I missed one?
