The virtues of the Cox's Orange Pippin were extolled in Roald Dahl's excellent "Danny, the champion of the world". I don't recall any other children's books that named the brand of fruit a child was eating! Very specific, in both Dahl's and AR's cases. Obviously good childhood memories; something better than the average daily apple?
