Does this mean that the big field next to Roger's field, that runs from below Lanehead to the lake, belongs not to Lanehead, but to Bank Ground Farm? As you say, it does all make ownership of the middle boathouse problematic, unless there is some covenant or agreement in place about land access- which the estate agent's particulars seem to suggest.

If AR stayed at Bank Ground farm, I can picture him walking up the field to talk with W.G Collingwood, or to press his suit with either of the Collingwood girls. Oddly, I can visualise it more easily in the misty damp conditions obtaining in the Street View pictures than in the sunshine of summer holidays. But then whenever I have been in the Lakes- filming with the police about the Police and Criminal Evidence Bill, as it then was, and doing a recce for a visit by the Decorative Arts Society, it was more wet than dry. Still magical, but mostly because having read AR, it had a deeper resonance. I even took a picture from above Windermere just because there was a small sail on the water...
