Imagine the Winter Holiday Illustration :
'The Martians in sight': Surely Dick would have
liked Comet Hale-Bopp ?

Kanchenjunga is about 15 miles to the North West
of us as the crow flies. The Old Man, Dow Crags
and Wetherlam clearly visible on a fine day.

Mid March, after several days drizzle, wondering around
the farm yard one night, I suddenly spotted Hale-Bopp
with a jump ,and, yes, it's to the North West,
ie over Coniston !

a. is this a portent of important news for TARS ?
(following a moving 'star', and all that ..)
b. what would Dick make of it ?
c. moreover, what would Nancy make of it - an adventure
to follow that would surely 'shiver your timbers' !

So finally, a query : Can Hale-Bopp be seen by our
Southern hemisphere TARS ? (A fond memory of NZ is lying
on a Milford Track helicopter pad late at night and looking
up at one heck of a bright sky - none of it recognisable !)
