As a non-TARS-member, this list, and its comments re TARS, is the only way I can judge whether it's an organisation I wish to join. So far, I'm not enormously inspired to, judging by the narkiness inherent in some of the comments of members and ex-members. (BTW, we last heard from Peter Roche thirty messages ago... so, rightly or wrongly, makes his views known, probably irritates people, but hardly constant.) What I'm trying to say in my bumbling way is that had I not been made aware of the tensions within the organisation I might have cheerfully sent off my membership application and *then* found myself in the midst of in-fighting and acrimony... even at this distance. Now I have more of a warts and all picture I can make a better informed decision.
