In reply to Peter H.'s suggestion that instead of sitting back, I
offer something to discuss, how about the subject of coincidence in
AR's novels? Here are a few examples. In SA, Titty was in the Amazon
at the same time the robbers were burying Captain Flint's treasure on
Cormorant Island; in GN, the birdman Jemmerling was in harbour just
when Dick needed him; in Peter Duck, the storm blew down Peter Duck's
bedroom tree just when everyone was there to find the treasure,
etc. etc.
Previously, I have opened discussions on the absence of sanitary
arrangements in the novels and the lack of strong emotion following
the loss of The Wild Cat in Missee Lee.
