Can I add to Ian's advice my own extremely simplified answers to Adam's questions, in order:
1) They are in copyright and will be so until 2037.
2) Not legally. This is 'reproduction' within the meaning of the Copyright Act.
3) Yes. If the website was located in a country which had not signed a copyright convention it could be difficult for parties in the UK to enforce their rights. However, the 'location' of a website is a bit of a grey area.
4) Force you to remove it, by injunction if necessary. This might be difficult (see 3 above).
Er, in the circumstances I had better not wish you good luck, Adam.
