Can anyone tell me more about the names that are given to all the differnt sorts of sailing ships, like a schooner is the sort of ship that has two masts (went to Crab Island), but what is a sloop, a brigantine, a barque, a cutter and a clipper? Are there other names that i don't know about yet?
Is ther any where on the web with pictures of the differeent sorts of sailing ships?

ALSO
Can anyone tell me more about the ranks in the Navy? Like what are the levels from admiral to comodore to captain to mate to able seaman etc. Is it the same in the Royal Navy as in the Merchant Navy?

Thank you!
from Bethany.
