When I first met the S&As Titty seemed to be the principal character, but being young I soon identified with Roger, and found Susan & John rather priggish. Later of course the amazons stole my heart with Peggy getting a sympathy vote for always being in nancy's shadow! There are not many deadbeats in the books they all have their roles to play. But there seem to be a few peripherals in the broads stories. If port & starboard were missing or the odd death and glory, would we miss them?
