Anyone who has ever stood in the bow of a 30 footer, hanging onto the
forestay in a 20 knot breeze, feeling the vessel pitch and flex can
never doubt that SHE is a living entity. My sloop, Thrasher, is and
for ever more will be a living female creature. I shall always refer to
sailing vessels as SHE until the day I die.
