I live in Canada, Ontario to be preciser. In our part of Canada, mountains are somewhat less common.

Ontario is a good size province, though not the largest, of 412,582 square miles which is a lot bigger than Texas (262,000) and is about the same size as Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark and Switzerland put together.

The highest point in this large area, Ontario, is as far as I can tell unnamed (though Lakehead University geographer, Robert Dilley who lives closer to it than I do may know its name) is 2,275 ft above sea level which is somewhat smaller than the Old Man of Coniston.

But we have lakes, dear God do we have lakes, to compensate! Lakes larger than the Irish Sea, lakes wider than the distance between Harwich and Flushing, lakes with islands, lakes with fish, lakes no one has ever sailed or canoed on.

There is a humourous Canadian (not really an oxymoron) singing group, the Arrogant Worms, who sing about this wonderful land of ours. Their song about Northern Ontario has a chorus with simple lyrics.
"Rocks and trees and trees and rocks, and rocks and trees and trees and rocks and rocks and trees and .....Water."
