Peter, there was nothing casual about my comment.

"Or do you have a better idea, Peter?" Yes, I have a lot of ideas Peter on this and many other Society matters that in my opinion would improve TARS considerably, but I am obviously not in a position to suggest them, but, in my opinion, all it would take to make them work would be a willingness to adapt to different ways allied to a flexible attitude, sadly lacking in TARS.

The return in percentage terms to any 'Questionnaire' is probably less important than the concept of consultation. In a Society that's cash rich the cost of 'consulting the Membership' should never be an issue.

In the Draft Minutes of this year's AGM one Member complained of the manner in which Tarpaulin set about the changes to publications. He felt it would have been better if Tarpaulin had sought the views of the Membership before implementing the changes. He felt the Regions should have been given the opportunity to comment on the proposals before they were adopted. He felt Tarpaulin would be well advised to get the Membership behind the changes rather than just confront them and this likewise applied to major reports upon which members should have the opportunity to comment.
