Harrogate was once noted as a spa. The great time for spas was at least a
couple of generations before the time of PM, but everything about the
Great Aunt is intentionally old-fashioned. In a quick web search I have
not found a good British website about spas, but the link below seems to
be a good U.S. one.

Towns like Bath, Cheltenham, Harrogate, and Tunbridge Wells, which still
even today have a wealthy, comfortable, high-class but old-fashioned
image, were all once spas.
