My Dear Beardbiter:
And the opening is said with affection.
In my post on the SA and SW I should have made it clear I was only only referring to the first two books.
The children never battle in the sense of physical fighting, so that we can consider the "meeting" battle a draw, if there was ever any chance AR would take the bows and arrows to a logical conclusion. So the problem is that a mathematical certainty of a draw does not affect the three declared battles or contests.
In terms of Nancy being the War leader, I have no doubt this is also a certainty and I would contend it was from SA onwards. She still has it in GN. There is often a difference between a political leader like John and a war leader like Nancy.
Nancy is a good model for my daughters, John is a more complex character who feels remorse for his actions. Maybe AR put more of himself in John?
Regards
White Beard.
