Inside the large drawing room at Lanehead, looking toward the lake, with Coniston Old Man in the distance. It is an enchanting house, but definitely not 'Beckfoot' - not any of it. The architecture is not in the least vernacular - it was built really as a holiday house - you could find a house like this on the outskirts of Worcester, say, or on the Isle of Wight.
