I do think the origin of the Secret Water map was the CA chart drawn by his friend Herbert Hanson.
A few years ago I stayed in Nacton while attending the AGM of the NBT. Quite by chance, I found my B&B was next door to Ransome's home! A wonderful spot.
The pub is but a short walk and was doing good trade, decent food. Mike Rines made them a gift of the tea towel.
I reproduced the CA chart in (without checking) AR and the World of SA.
