Having now watched the TV programme, I was disappointed there was no reference to the Altounyans as the original Swallows - and this in spite of the final credit to the family of Roger.
This struck me particularly since I am preparing a talk for this Saturday about AR's visit to them in Syria in 1932, where he wrote a lot of Peter Duck. He played down the connection later on, with that "Author's Note" quoted by John Sergeant, but there is no denying the original fact.
