It is quite clear from the description of them that George OWDON and Ralph Strakey went to a Public School (what would be called a Private School in the USA). The Hullabaloos would probably have been known as Bright Young Things, or else were the next generation of that phenomenon. They would definitely have been from the moneyed class. The Workers
couldn't afford to hire a motor boat in the 30s.
George OWDEN has no part in any of the AR books, in spite of his frequent appearances on Tarboard.
