I must admit that I had always imagined the Hullabaloos as working class but this is an anachronism based on my association of the kind of Hullaboolish practices that Matless documents under the heading "non improving fun", driving large motor baots too quickly whilst accompanied by loud music etc., with the mass tourism which was evident on the Broads when I lived there in the 70's . Not that we never made any noise, or drove motorbaots into pilings for that matter but that is a different story all together...
I think if you want to use capital in your analysis you are better off with Bourdieu's distinction between cultural and social capital. Those with cultural capital but necesarily the economic sort know how to behave properly in the Broads or Lakes and resent others who "spoil it for everyone else'.
By the way does anyone know when egg collecting stopped being a proper improving activity for the serious minded out door enthusiast?
