I thought I would stick in my two cents worth here. The big age difference is not a big deal - it, of course, depends upon the couple. My daughter(age 38) has a boyfriend who is nineteen years older (they have been together now for about 4 or 5 years) - my ex-wife's husband is fifteen years younger (they have a wonderful 25 year old daughter) and my grandfather was seventeen years older than my grandmother - that lasted about fifty-six years.

I, too, thought out "what if" stories about the Swallows and Amazons at the time I was reading the stories (late '40's), as well as illustrating the "what ifs" (mostly extensions of "Peter Duck" and "Missee Lee". I did design, build and coerce a local Cub Scout troop into being a Dragon for the local Boy Scout Circus in 1949, with myself as Roger the Dragon Tamer!) It would be fun to read the entire story by Ed and Prue of their "what ifs"!

Comment on long postings: one don't HAVE to read them, do something more productive! I have really learned a lot from all the postings on TarBoard! (Even the ones I thought I would not be that interested in.) I am a very wordy person, so I enjoy the lengthy dissertations!
That is why we have language - to better express ourselves and convey our thoughts! Less is less and more is more!

Thanks for the forum!
