After seeing the movie League of Extrordinary Gentlemen, my brother in law decided Capt. Nemo was pretty cool and he is now going to read 20,000 leagues and Mysterious Island for the first time.

My 12 year old cousin was amazed when I told her Treasure Planet was based on a book written in the 19th Century.

I wonder if the SA series ever served as a starting block for children to read the stories mentioned in the books (i.e. Treasure Island, Robinson Crusoe, etc.).
