I guess that I was more fortunate than most in that I was able to camp and get paid for it! when you're a young geologist, that's the sort of privations that "they" thrust upon you! I've had some memorable camps in the Australian Alps [the stars are twice as big as anywhere else] and Central Australia [the stars are twice as numerous as anywhere else]. In each case, after work the tipple was a good cabernet, and at breakfast it was invariably tea.
