The film was "The Englishman who went up a hill but came down a Mountain" starring Hugh Grant and Tara Fitzgerald, also featuring Colm Meaney, Ian Hart and other familiar character actors. The "magic height" to be the "first mountain in Wales" was one thousand feet. Rather in the style of a latter-day Ealing comedy, and well worth seeing.
