I just came across a new (to me anyhow) annotated book- Anne of Green Gables, by L. M. Montgomery. It's very well done, and includes articles on crafts of the time, orphanages, and many of the the songs and poems mentioned in the book. It was published in 1997 by Oxford University Press.

It will go well with my annotated Alice.
