Well, what would have stopped them being toffs? Or does Andy think that persons are labelled indelibly at birth? Despite everything that happens subsequently? What has happened to class mobility, up and down, which is a very real and frequent phenomenon, in my own experience?
BTW, Jock - will there be a just a tiny weeny space to mention my challenge to Andy's theories on Duffers?
