For all those who like me continue to love AR's books here's a bit of trivia that might be of interes: In WDMTGTS, the Swallows, with Daddy at the helm on the much more return journey, spot a large four-masted barque, the Pommern being towed beyond the Cork lightship(?)by a steam tug (chapter XXIV pp347 in my edition). I just did a google search and discovered that not only did such a vessel exist butshe is still afloat in Finland. There is a marvelous website which includes a photo of the Pommern being towed by a tug, much as they would have seen it. Enjoy.
