I wondered. I visited her in '82, and was horrified that they'd cut a door through her hull.

I worked for a little while as a rigger for Mystic Seaport, where a great deal of lip service is paid to preservation and yet none of the principle vesels are seaworthy. It was one of the most depressing things I've ever done.
