Maestro!

PM also makes it clear :-

1) The Drawing Room was at the back of the house, facing the lawn and river, because the D's saw from the river 'the glimmer of a lamp or candles in the drawing room' (that incidentally also answers the question raised some time ago of whether Beckfoot had electricity). It must have been one of (I would have thought more likely both, but Dorothea was 'watching that lighted window) the windows to the right of the study in the burglary picture.

2) The Spare Room is also at the back of the house - Dorothea at the study window saw somebody light a light upstairs, therefore also at the back.

Incidentally the windows are odd. You would expect them all to be sash windows in a house of this date, and the study clearly was, as were most of the other windows shown in the 'getting in' picture, but Nancy's room as shown in the trellis picture has a casement window. If it was today I would be afraid that the plastic window merchants had been calling!
