Great Northern? is certainly one of my favourites, even though some of us may not like it that much. I think the red herring bit and John's false glasses are great. I like Roger's indignation when he thinks Nancy is teasing him when he fell asleep in the pict house (another sanctuary?). Roger's daring rescue, Dick's excitement when he realizes he has discovered an important piece of ornithological information, the feeling of wide open spaces. etc. I could go on. The only tinge of sadness comes when you realize they are growing up and soon their will be no more adventures. The setting of GN is important certainly, but the main thing that the S and As are together and are at the top of their form. Three Million Cheers!
