There is a photo of Taqui Altounyan sailing Mavis (the original Amazon) with Roger and she is definitely wearing a wrist watch.

Yes, well spotted; but two points; in none of the other photos of the Altounyans sailing is any one of them visibly wearing a watch (although I'm perfectly capable of missing it if they did) and secondly, Roger and Taqui, from their size and their clothes. are considerably older and more mature in that photo than the S, A and Ds would be in the books. Taqui, in fact, would fit perfectly into an Aleppo salon

And as you mention, in none of the illustrations has AR included a watch, wrist or pocket. I don't think it's the kind of detail that he'd have missed every time.

So it's still up in the air.
