talking of 'The Big Six', is it just my imagination, or is this the least discussed book on Tarboard?

I don't have a Kiser-alike database to back it up, but it seems to me that you may be right.

Personally, I find BS to be one of the best books, full of character and detail, and one of the great lines in AR comes right at the end when, in the crowded pub, it emerges that the D&Gs caught the World's Whopper. And the old man says 'Poor lads, so young and with nothing left to live for.' And Pete ends on the upbeat 'Let's go and catch another.'

I read it first when I was very young, and never understood the full meaning of that exchange. It was only decades later that I got the point.

When I finally re-read a whole load of the books, after WH and PM, I found it was my favourite.
