For me no film or TV version of The Railway Children is complete without Grieg's Symphonic Dance no. 2 as its theme music.
I first encountered the stories via the radio, and I seem to remember that the theme music there was different. But it was so long ago that it's all pretty hazy.
Certainly, the Greig doesn't bring up any associations. But then my family didn't have a TV set until 1964.
