"There are also stars to show their ports of call . . ."

My copy of GN is the Red Fox edition. I wasn't too impressed by its reproduction of the map of western Scotland. Since Bob mentioned Cape Wrath, I took a lens and could just make out that's what the blur in the top right corner might be. Okay, Oban is acknowledged, if not mentioned in the text.
I'd vaguely noticed some white blobs, mostly well offshore. Until I read Bob's post it had never occurred to me that they represented ports of call. If the Sea Bear visited St. Kilda it must have been one of the first ships to do so since the inhabitants were evacuated in August 1930.
It also appears that they visited Oigh-sgeir, a rock and lighthouse some seven miles south-west of Canna. Good for them. I must see if it shows up on Google Maps.
