in an early edition of PM Nancy “peals” off her bathing suit when she is jumping into bed after visiting the Dog’s Home (Visiting Seal, ch 23), although this was corrected to “peels” in later Cape hardback editions.
Something that even a spellcheck would not pick up!
This is the early edition of PM that had the Nancy reporting that the GA said while she was practising the piano “Please Nancy, these two bars again ..... Nancy ..... Nancy .....”,
a mistake by AR (my earlier message, 20th May)
