paperbacks v.s hardback

Could any one tell me if the paperbacks are the complete article or have bits been taken out of them when produced in paperbacks. I know this happens a lot and it occurrd to me that this might be the case here. As I don't own any hardbacks I can't check for myself. Thank you.
