I have great memories of the sabot I used on the Okanagan Lake in British Columbia It was a bit bigger than most and could fit two teen agers and some gear. we used a 12' fishing boat as our supply barge and had a great time heading down about 15 miles to Rattlesnake Island for camping adventures etc., when I was about 14. Nowadays I have a 4.2meter(13'6")approx. Enterprize that I sail with my neices (10 and 12) and occaisonally an extra adult. It is dry you sit in it and it's big enough to hold a picnic basket and some other gear as well. With it's two sails it's fast and fun but I find myself still looking for a 16-17 footer in wood for the ultimate family exursion boat. The "Blue Angel" is a lot of fun and certainly has a lot more room than the laser 2s I've seen. I agree that it's the pcompany and memories that make or break the boat but the feel of a wooden boat creaming thru the water has never been duplicated by plastic or fiberglass in my limited experience. Joy to all. Remember that it is better by far to sail on top of a Sunfish than never to have sailed at all - BY MILES!!!!!
