MY first boat was an Albacore in Toronto in 1983. They are still available second hand in this area. I don't know if there is still a Canadian or US manufacturer but I think someone is still making them in the UK.
There is quite a keen racing fleet in one corner of the Toronto Outer Harbour. They are also popular cottage boats and some sailing schools. I would think they were a bit too tippy for Swallows and Amazon use but a fun and surprisingly fast boat to sail.
