Thank you, Dan. We have got the correct Brian Hammett, then! I've recently been re-reading AR's Mariner's Library prefaces, and one thing which became very clear is that AR was friendly with the Founding Secretary of the Cruising Association, H.J. Hanson. Hanson was a remarkable man, who wrote a rather nice book ("Ianthe Cruises") himself.
