When I first brought up the subject of the Pigeon basket being addressed to Roger, not Titty, I did not imagine the number of follow up's and new threads that would materialise. In my opinion, this is just the thing that this message board is for. One point some writers seem to forget; everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and every opinion is equally valid.
One interesting point, Titty's name and possible embarrassment.
I remember reading Swallowdale to a class of 10 year olds in the 80's, and always had to put up with sniggers every time poor Titty was mentioned. Not being around in the 30's, I do not know if the name had the same signification then!
