Yes, Mike, he did. To the best of my recollection (not having the books in my office with me) in Peter Duck (name of one of Black Jake's crew) and in The Big Six (Pete's exclamation on seeing the negative of George Owden and accomplice). Anyone note any others? It may be that later editions changed the words to something considered more acceptable and that is why you missed them.
