Actually I think most people would call that a jib, Jonathan, although strictly it's not. On my dinghy (sprit-rigged sloop) I regret to say that the one and only headsail is almost invariably referred to as the jib. The question in her case is complicated even further by the fact that that particular sail is set flying and so could not by any stretch of imagination be called a staysail.

The Broads cruisers I mentioned (eg Teasel) carried only one headsail too, almost invariably on a club. As far as I know, those sails were set flying as well, but Broads cruisers did carry forestays, even if the sails weren't hanked to them.

All good clean fun, isn't it?
