Sorry to interrupt this conversation about squashy hats, but I have a
question. I seem to remember in one of the books (probably somewhere
in the endpapers) a note on the typeface used. I have only five of
the books and there is no mention of it. I have the Jonathan Cape
editions of the late 1940's (dark green hardcovers). It seems to me
it was Century Schoolbook or Bookman Old Style. Anyone know for sure?
