The monkey was owned by Roger Walker rather than Jim Turner. Therefore, would the insurance company have tried to claim from Captain and Mrs Walker (Roger being a minor)?
I think the ill-feeling this undoubtedly engendered between the adult Walkers and Blacketts, may explain why the Walkers do not appear in THE PICTS AND THE MARTYRS. GREAT NORTHERN? must, therefore, be a fantasy dreamt up by the children, looking back to theGolden Days before the loss of the WildCat when they went on holiday together.
