He was in a way a celebrity and dealt with his fame, I do wonder if just because we admire someone we have any right (in the loose sense) to approach them and talk to them. Many years ago (actually 41 next month) I went to see my then (and still) favourite rock band and waiting to go in the venue stood close enough to their guitarist and founder to speak to him (Robert Fripp of King Crimson if anyone is interested) but did not dare! And what would I have said?
